Democrats in California are trying to reclaim some of the glory for the climate change policies they helped usher into being. Standing in their way is the most charismatic movie stars to lead a state since Ronald Reagan. Gov. Schwarzenegger has won heaps of goodwill the world over for his increasingly bold stance against global warming â as evidenced not only in
policies but in
strong words for the fellow Republican occupying the White House. California Democrats say they deserve credit, too, since they wrote many of the policies the governor is winning points for. It''s an issue that matters more to Californians than the world outside â but it speaks volumes about the political capital that certain politicians have earned by not only talking â but acting â Terminator tough on climate, according to a story in the May 28 Inside Bay Area.
