The mayors of the largest cities in the world arrived in New York City Monday for the second
C40 Large Cities Climate Summit, a meeting of the minds on an issue attendees agreed is pressing. Cities are responsible for 75 percent of the world's energy consumption, so proposals like New York City
Mayor Michael Bloomberg's PlaNYC, and
the plan L.A. Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa will unveil today are seen as important aspects of any solution. Monday, delegates toured the city and attended a reception at the Hearst Tower, New York's first green building to be LEED-certified gold by the U.S. Green Building Council. Today, they get down to business, with panel discussions and speeches all day.
