Thought to be the fuel of the far-off future, hydrogen will make a big debut next year. Honda will roll out a limited line of passenger cars powered by hydrogen fuel cells. Honda will market a small number of hydrogen fuel-cell sedans in 2008, along with a new hybrid car that will be priced below $25,000. GM has also announced plans involving near-term hydrogen. Hydrogen emits very little tailpipe pollution, but the lucky few who buy the new model will have precious few fueling stations to choose from. Still, when it comes to technology in the market place, the chicken-and-egg race between tank and pump can be a good thing, according to a May 11 story in USA Today.
