Food Makers Say They'll Do Better

After it became abundantly clear that pet and animal feed makers not only used wheat flour tainted with chemicals, but that they thought that flour was gluten, they are scrambling to pledge reforms, according to a story in today's USA Today. The melamine-tainted pet food scandal has exposed wide gaps have been exposed in the private and public oversight of the food system. Now, regulators and manufacturers are trying to find a better way.
