We are only a few weeks into the New Year but it is clear that green careers and renewable energy will be important areas of job creation. Green jobs have an immense potential for growth. As most businesses are trying to "go green" they will also be looking for people with knowledge of how to implement these practices.
What can green job training do for you?
In order for any business to grow it must have qualified individuals who know the market. In the green job world, this can be problematic because the field is so new. In order for the green economy to catch on, it needs educated people in the appropriate fields.
Businesses need to earn grant money and train as many people to start in the green market. Universities and colleges have already begun to offer classes and degrees in green fields. Government grants enhance the ability for people to be trained. The U.S. government has announced $100 million dollars of grants for green job training. To start identifying where to connect with these grants, this site will give you a broad overview.
The NEA Foundation makes it easy for teachers to find green grants. Also keep in mind that you may be able to use government loans for programs that are offering training in a green field. Another option may be to check out tax incentives. It may also lead you to some companies who have received money from grants and are looking to train individuals. As green careers become more common, the competition for training people will expand as well.
If you are looking for green training, it may at first seem overwhelming to decide which green field to enter. Start with making sure you know where you would like to specialize. Understanding your niche is the key to starting your green training. Before you start spending money, make sure you understand the green economy. Some fields to consider are: solar, wind, green building and conservation.
Green training is where everything begins. The growth of a green sector is the fastest way to create new jobs. Because green covers every business, it also has the ability to help all job sectors, especially manufacturing.
Green companies should take a look at how the computer industry started. It started with an idea. Once the idea took hold, universities started offering the degrees needed to expand it to what we now know as the computer age. Green is an idea that is in the second stage of its growth. When we look back at this time in history, we will take note of how these next few years will shape the future of the green economy.
