Shoemaker To the Stars Goes Green

Patrick Cox isn't a household name, unless your house is a mansion, and you live with Madonna, that is. He's the shoemaker to the stars, having designed footwear for the likes of Madonna, Justin Timberlake, Cate Blanchett, Elton John and Elizabeth Hurley.

And now, following a life-threatening car accident, he's preaching a green theme -- in his life and his works, according to the Toronto Star. Just what this "more organic" streak will look like is unclear, but frequent trips to Africa suggest the designer known for trendy urban footwear is thinking about open spaces and wildlife. It's only fitting that a shoemaker would walk the walk.
