Paper? Plastic? No thank you. It's a chant you can hear more and more at grocery store checkout across the country, as one of the simplest trends in green living goes wholly mainstream. Today, there's further evidence in the New Orleans Times Picayune.

The trend got a big boost a month ago when Anya Hindmarch released her stylish “I'm not a plastic bag” bag. It quickly became a must-have for the jet set. The trend has more controversial backing from politicians in several California cities, which have banned the use of plastic bags outright.

We say: It's stylish to save trees and keep petroleum-based plastic bags out of landfills. Even if you don't have "the" bag, just remember the chant: Paper? Plastic? No thank you.
