The retail grocer that brought natural and organic foods into new and hungry communities is growing fast. Whole Foods invested $77 million in new stores in the second quarter, and it has opened 15 new stores in the past year, according to a story in today's San Francisco Chronicle. Whole Foods has in many ways been synonymous with this moment in the environmental movement, as the benefits and appeal of a greener lifestyle are going mainstream, and businesses position themselves to serve the growing market, according to the May 11 article in the San Francisco Chronicle .
